Xiao Jue is a completely modular, fully rigged Asian girl character distributed with project files for Unity, Unreal Engine, and Substance Painter. The package includes a wonderful render scene, ARKit blendshapes, adjustable body parts, and plenty of unique hairstyles. Artists and developers can take advantage of its modular construction to remove or add any part, taking clothes off completely or hiding underlying body geometry to reduce polycount.

Xiao Jue Hairstyles, Outfits, and Mesh Variations

The character is provided in several mesh configurations to accommodate different wardrobe and hair choices. None of these character meshes utilize an LOD system. The highest density mesh is Xiao Jue 01, which comes with twintails and fur, totaling 76,235 faces, 150,208 tris, and 115,803 verts. Two alternative hairstyles are provided: Xiao Jue 02 features straight hair without fur (35,581 faces, 68,912 tris, 39,003 verts), and Xiao Jue 03 features buns without fur (42,186 faces, 71,682 tris, 45,989 verts).

Further clothing-specific meshes are included to help optimize scenes. Xiao Jue in Swimsuit consists of 39,059 faces, 77,439 tris, and 42,248 verts. Xiao Jue in Underwear accounts for 34,766 faces, 68,844 tris, and 37,984 verts. Xiao Jue Nude is the lowest density mesh at 33,076 faces, 65,494 tris, and 36,029 verts. Adult parts are not modeled and do not have morphs or a rig. They are represented strictly as a texture, with the default body texture censored. An uncensored texture can be requested.

Because the model is completely modular, the body is sliced into pieces to prevent intersection through clothing. Pieces beneath the clothes must be turned off or hidden, subsequently lowering the polygon count rendered in the viewport. A full-body mesh and underwear are included, alongside a bonus idle animation.

Epic Skeleton Rigging and Animation Compatibility

The rig is based on the Epic Skeleton (UE5) and includes additional bones, while the main bone hierarchy has remained untouched. The rig was created in Maya without plugins and does not have controls. Physics are not included in the rig setup, but developers can apply physics to different parts. The model is compatible with the creator's previous releases since it shares the same skeleton, and prior releases will be updated to the UE5 skeleton over time.

The rig has been tested with a wide variety of animation systems and projects. This includes the Lyra Starter Game, Game Animation Sample Project, Advanced Locomotion System V4, standard third-person animations, Female Interaction Animations, a Mocap Library, ARLS + Horse Animset, Succubus AnimSet, Valley of the Ancient, and Close Combat: Swordsman.

52 ARKit Blendshapes for Facial Capture

Xiao Jue features 52 perfectly calibrated ARKit blendshapes suitable for live stream facial animations. These blendshapes have been tested with Live Link Face in Unreal Engine 5 and Face Capture in Unity. They are compatible with LiveLinkFace, Faceware, Facial Mocap, VTuber Avatar, VRChat, MMD, and similar applications. Beyond facial capture, the model contains additional blendshapes to regulate breast size, butt size, and nail length.

Unity, Unreal Engine, and Substance Painter Project Files

The asset provides tailored project files for multiple engines and tools, allowing artists to jump straight into their preferred pipeline.

Unreal Engine 4.24+ Integration

The Unreal Engine project supports version 4.24 and above. It includes a demo render scene with a Blueprint, the Epic Skeleton rig with additional bones, and advanced materials. Facial animations are driven via morph targets. Material instances with MatID maps for color change are included, alongside standard third-person animations and separated meshes for Master Pose Component or Leader Pose Component setups. Wind simulation for hair is built in. Physics are not included, and using the KawaiiPhysics plugin is advisable for the best visual results.

Unity 2021+ and Render Pipeline Support

The Unity project supports 2021 and newer versions, spanning the Built-in, URP, and HDRP render pipelines. Both Advanced and Default shaders are provided. The character utilizes a Humanoid rig with eye and jaw bones, and facial animations are driven via blendshapes. Similar to the Unreal Engine setup, physics are not included in the Unity project. Developers can easily add tattoos and scars, utilize wind simulation for hair, and apply any Humanoid animations from the store to the character. An AllPartsTogether.fbx file is included for customization. The package represents a character asset only and contains no controls or scripts.

Advanced Materials and 4K Texture Sets

Texturing is handled through 4K resolution across seven texture sets: Body, Head, Eyes L/R, Lashes, Clothes, and Hair. Textures are packed for better optimization. Each set contains BaseColor, Normal, Roughness, Metallic, MetallicSmoothness, MaskMap, and Ambient Occlusion maps. Sets may also include MatID, Opacity, and Emissive maps where applicable.

MatID maps are provided for the Skin, Eyes, and Outfit Parts. A MatID map is utilized for changing the colors of a BaseColor map by sections. Creators can use the Advanced Shader to alter these colors easily, making it straightforward to adjust the character's appearance to fit different scenes or visual styles.

Xiao Jue is built to handle facial mocap, standard gameplay locomotion, and stylized render scenes across Unity, Unreal Engine, and Substance Painter. With its sliced modular body, Epic Skeleton rigging, and 4K packed textures, the character is structured to drop into existing animation pipelines or serve as a customizable base for VTubing and game development.
