Resource overview

Constructing believable metropolitan expanses requires balancing sweeping transit infrastructure with ground-level architectural detail. Visus City Vol 2 tackles this spatial challenge through a procedural content generated (PCG) framework tuned for road networks, city grids, and suburban neighborhood layouts. Built to serve game development pipelines, architectural visualizations, and virtual video productions, the package supplies artists with modular building blocks and procedural workflows that scale from high-altitude vistas down to walkable street corners.

Spline Control Across 127 Road, Bridge, and Highway Blueprint Templates

Transit planning forms the structural spine of any municipal environment. Visus City Vol 2 organizes transit infrastructure around a library of 127 road, bridge, and highway Blueprint templates. Every template is engineered for modification through spline editing tools, giving level designers the ability to sweep multi-lane freeways over undulating terrain, adjust banking on highway overpasses, and weave complex bridge spans without hand-modeling unique connection geometry.

Surface-level detail adapts directly through the underlying spline controls. Road lines, stop lines, and pedestrian walk lines can be modified and repositioned along spline paths to reflect accurate traffic flow, turning lanes, and pedestrian crosswalks. To adjust the physical profile of sidewalks and borders, custom road curbs and pavements can be injected using Data Assets. This modular data setup makes it possible to switch curb styles, curb heights, and pavement materials across large districts while preserving the established road geometry.

Modular Architecture and Packed Level Actors in Visus City Vol 2

Verticality and neighborhood variety stem from a collection of structural models divided between commercial and residential typologies. The kit features 12 building exteriors tailored for dense urban centers and 13 house exteriors suited for outlying residential subdivisions, including the Home_03 exterior configuration.

Both buildings and houses are assembled as Packed Level Actors. Structuring architectural assets as Packed Level Actors allows development teams to treat each property as an isolated sub-level. Studios can easily add custom structural layouts or substitute existing exterior meshes with their own proprietary architectural assets without breaking district hierarchies. Environment artists looking to expand existing city projects can also rely on cross-compatibility with Visus City Vol 1 to maintain visual and systemic continuity across sprawling world maps.

Walkable Interiors and Interactive Blueprints for Unreal Engine 5.5 and 5.6

While many city assets remain rigid background shells, Visus City Vol 2 incorporates gameplay-ready elements for street-level exploration. The Home_01 residential structure includes fully modeled interior spaces specifically configured for Unreal Engine 5.5 and Unreal Engine 5.6. These interior layouts provide dedicated living areas, including rooms suited for kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms fitted with furniture assets.

To support immediate character navigation, Home_01 integrates Interactive Door Blueprints alongside an included third-person template for Unreal Engine 5.5 and Unreal Engine 5.6. Players or architectural clients can physically approach entrances, trigger door interactions, and step from exterior curbs into domestic interiors without breaking immersion or requiring custom collision scripting.

Night Lighting Systems and Interior Cube Maps

Rendering nighttime cityscapes often encounters severe performance bottlenecks when every window is modeled with three-dimensional rooms. Visus City Vol 2 addresses this challenge by providing 20 interior cube maps. These cube maps simulate lighted office floors, residential apartments, and retail spaces from street viewpoints, giving multi-story towers convincing internal depth at a fraction of the computational expense.

To ground night scenes, the package integrates dedicated streetlights mapped alongside roads and sidewalks. These luminaires illuminate asphalt splines, crosswalks, and neighborhood frontages to establish balanced night atmospheres. Creators can follow included video tutorials covering the setup of interior cube maps, streetlight balancing, interactive door logic, spline road creation, and the process of importing custom buildings as Packed Level Actors.

Nanite, Lumen, and Foliage Integration

Under the hood, the environment takes advantage of modern Unreal Engine rendering features. Nanite virtualized geometry support is enabled for Unreal Engine 5.0 and newer versions, allowing road curbs, complex bridge steelwork, and building facades to retain maximum geometric fidelity with minimal draw-call strain. Lumen dynamic global illumination and reflections are enabled across Unreal Engine 5.0+, ensuring that dynamic daylight sweeps and nighttime streetlight emissions bounce accurately across concrete, asphalt, and glass.

Procedural Content Generation (PCG) systems are natively enabled for Unreal Engine 5.2 and higher, powering the automated distribution of neighborhood layouts and transit paths. Greenery is handled through 10 distinct tree models, configured as both Static Meshes and Foliage Actors. This dual-setup allows artists to paint trees manually onto medians, scatter them procedurally along sidewalks, or replace them entirely with custom biome vegetation. With a fully assembled demo level included, teams can directly inspect the spline hierarchies, foliage distribution, and lighting setups before adapting the assets to their own production worlds.
