Resource overview

UE4 Mannequin Skeleton Rigging and First-Person Arm Meshes

Project integration begins with the character rig. Low Poly Animated - Modern Guns Pack is built strictly around the UE4 Mannequin skeleton. It does not support the newer UE5 Manny skeleton out of the box, making it essential to target projects configured for UE4 bone hierarchies or establish a clean retargeting pipeline if transitioning assets across engine generations.

Two distinct first-person arm meshes are included to handle weapon interaction directly from the camera perspective:

  • Base Arms
  • Base Arms With Gloves

Both arm variants come configured and ready for the mannequin rig. Material customization for the character arms is handled entirely inside Unreal Engine. Developers can duplicate the supplied example materials and adjust visual parameters without bouncing assets out to external digital content creation tools.

Eight Customizable Gun Models and Modular Assemblies

The weapon catalog features eight individual firearm archetypes. Every firearm is delivered as a skeletal mesh, fully rigged and ready to drop into an active gameplay framework. Rather than acting as static single-piece props, each firearm includes separated, swappable components such as barrels, slides, and magazines that allow for dynamic reassembly and mechanical visual feedback during gameplay.

The pack covers a broad spread of tactical weapon roles:

  • SMG (SP60): Compact automatic firearm with modular receiver and cycling parts.
  • Pistol (X13): Semi-automatic sidearm featuring distinct slide and magazine components.
  • Sniper (MR22): Long-range rifle equipped for precision handling and dedicated reload steps.
  • Revolver (RC425): Heavy cylinder handgun structured with mechanical cycling components.
  • Shotgun (MAK12): Close-quarters weapon with pump or cycling mechanics.
  • Rocket Launcher (LRAF9): Heavy ordnance launcher for high-impact projectile setups.
  • Assault Rifle (AG14W): Standard tactical rifle with modular barrel lengths and magazine options.
  • Light Machine Gun (HVG7): High-capacity squad automatic weapon with distinct feed and loading components.

Gun Attachments and Custom Material Variations

Visual and mechanical adjustments extend through a modular attachment system. Sockets on the weapon skeletal meshes allow developers to snap tactical hardware directly onto the receivers and rails without manual alignment headaches.

Available weapon attachments include:

  • Vertical Grip
  • Angled Grip
  • Pistol Rail
  • Red Dot Scope
  • Silencer
  • Laser Pointer
  • Bipod

To differentiate weapon drops, tier systems, or faction equipment, the pack provides over 16 custom gun materials. These presets encompass multiple modern camo variations and abstract modern patterns. Functional sight adjustments are also factored in, providing glowing dot variations on iron sights to improve target acquisition under dark in-game lighting conditions.

Animation Blueprint Motion Sets for First-Person Handling

Every firearm in the collection possesses a dedicated set of custom first-person animations tailored to its specific proportions and mechanical functions. These motion files account for standard operation, weapon management, and transitional movement, eliminating the visual stiffness of shared, one-size-fits-all weapon poses.

The core animation cycles address combat handling states across multiple scenarios:

  • Firing Sequences: Standard hip fire alongside aimed fire states that align sights with camera positioning.
  • Reloading Cycles: Tactical reloads with rounds remaining, aimed tactical reloads, completely empty reloads requiring charging handle manipulation, and aimed empty reloads.
  • Equipment Management: Inspecting cycles to view weapon details, normal holstering, quick holstering, standard unequip, and quick unequip states.
  • Melee and Utility: Dedicated grenade throwing animations and swift knife attack strikes.
  • Locomotion: Directional walking animations and full sprinting cycles keyed to first-person perspective arms.

Because these sequences interact directly with skeletal meshes, slide movement, bolt cycling, and magazine extraction are synchronized cleanly with hand movements during both hip and ADS states.

System Architecture and Low Poly Shooter Pack Integration

Beyond static meshes and animation sequences, the package supplies extensive Blueprint scaffolding. Both standard Actor Blueprints and Animation Blueprints are provided as working examples. These Blueprints are thoroughly commented and structured to demonstrate best practices for calling weapon animations, swapping components, and routing state machines.

For projects expanding beyond isolated art prototypes, a dedicated integration path is supported for the Low Poly Shooter Pack. This bridge connects the weapon skeletal meshes, component logic, and animations directly to the underlying code and gameplay systems of the framework. Users possessing both products can leverage the included integration guide and configuration files to link weapon data tables, firing logic, and state transitions without rebuilding inventory and weapon-handling code from scratch.

Production readiness can be tested through precompiled 64-bit Windows demo builds and video showcases, alongside onboarding documentation, a Quick Start Guide, and technical support resources covering core setup questions.
