Water in a real-time scene is rarely 1 effect. A waterfall slams into a pool, spray hangs in the air around it, ripples spread across the surface, and the stream below carries the overflow onward—several kinds of motion happening at once, each with its own visual behavior. Nature Water FX, produced by SHOGUN GAMES, approaches it that way. The set brings together 14 Niagara Systems across 4 families: 5 fountains, 3 geysers, 3 streams, and 3 waterfalls.

Every system runs in Unreal Engine's Niagara Framework, loops continuously, and includes User-Controlled Variables so each individual part of an effect can be adjusted on its own. That positions the pack as something closer to a water-behavior toolkit than a set of static presets.

4 Families of Water: 5 Fountains, 3 Geysers, 3 Streams, 3 Waterfalls

The 14 systems are not 14 variations on the same splash. They split into distinct behaviors with different jobs inside a natural scene.

Fountains cover water pushed upward against gravity—suited as much to built spaces as to natural springs. Geysers are the more aggressive counterpart, handling water that erupts rather than flows. Streams supply the low, continuous run of water across terrain, the kind of motion that reads as a creek or a channel feeding a larger body of water. Waterfalls carry the vertical fall, the heaviest visual moment in the set.

The counts give a sense of where the pack's weight sits. 5 fountains give a project room to vary: a setting that needs water in several locations can swap between looks instead of repeating the same effect. 3 streams and 3 waterfalls offer enough range to dress a river system without obvious repetition. The tags that frame the pack—Flow, Stream, Mist, Ripple, Water, Liquid, Ocean, and Sea—point to the full range of behavior covered. Mist and Ripple in particular suggest the finer details that sell water as part of an environment: the airborne spray that hangs around a fountain or fall, and the moving surface that spreads from a disturbance.

Waterfall Impact and Surface Wakes as Separate Niagara Systems

The waterfalls get structural attention the other families don't call out. For the waterfall effects, the water impact and the surface wakes are separate Niagara Systems rather than 1 combined effect. The impact is the collision where the falling water meets the surface below. The surface wakes are the ripples and patterns that spread outward from that point.

Separating the 2 is a practical decision. A waterfall is typically the heaviest single water element in a scene, and keeping the fall's contact behavior in its own system keeps the whole setup easier to manage. It also breaks the link between the 2 stages: the collision and the wake do not have to be adjusted together. A modest fall over a still pool might need gentle impact but visible wakes; a hard fall into a rocky basin might need strong impact with the wake kept understated. Because impact and wakes live in their own systems, both setups are reachable without touching the falling water itself.

User-Controlled Variables on Every Niagara System

Every system in the pack carries User-Controlled Variables, and the customization extends to each individual part of the effect. That is not a single intensity slider applied to the whole system. The variables separate the effect into parts, and each part can be shaped on its own.

For a scene builder, this changes how the pack gets used. A fountain, geyser, stream, or waterfall does not have to be accepted as a fixed preset; its pieces can be tuned to match the scale and mood of a specific location. The pack applies this across all systems without exception—no effect is locked down to a limited set of controls. The environment gets the final say on how the water behaves, and the variables are the means of reaching it.

Optimized and Continuous: Water That Keeps Looping

All of the visual effects are optimized and loop continuously. The 2 qualities work together. A water effect set into a scene has to keep running for as long as a player or camera stays nearby; a 1-shot effect needs triggers and re-fires, while a looping system simply runs. Continuous playback is the stated baseline here.

Optimization matters because water is often the most particle-dense element in a natural scene. A Level carrying a stream, a fountain, and a waterfall at the same time is running 3 systems at once before any other effects are added. The pack is built for that duty—optimized, endlessly looping systems that stay practical when several run together.

The Rural Australia Demo Environment Stays Out of the Pack

The demo video and product screenshots place Nature Water FX inside the Rural Australia pack, used for demonstration only. That environment pack is not included. The previews show what the water looks like in a dressed scene, while the delivery is the water effects themselves.

That separation works in production's favor. The effects are not tied to a specific biome or terrain style. The same fountain, stream, and waterfall systems that appear in the Rural Australia setting can land in any environment the user builds—a coastal ruin, a highland valley, an urban park. The environment supplies the context; the pack supplies the moving water.

Nature Water FX is best understood as a water-behavior layer for scenes that already have their terrain, lighting, and composition in place. The 14 systems provide the moving water, the variables adapt each effect to its location, and the loops play on without supervision. Fountains, geysers, streams, and waterfalls cover the ground most natural scenes need—and the demo environment stays exactly where it belongs, in the preview.
