Engine Deployment and Pipeline Formats

Integrating House Plants into an existing production pipeline begins with selecting the target environment build. The package delivers native files split across two major runtime ecosystems: Unreal Engine and Unity. For Unreal Engine, assets are supplied as native .uasset Files ready for projects running versions 4.26 through 4.27, as well as the modern 5.0 through 5.8 releases. In Unity, implementation relies on Unity 2021.3 configured specifically for the Universal Render Pipeline (URP), provided through .unitypackage Archives and pre-assembled .prefab Structures.

Setting up scenes using the native prefabs or uassets bypasses manual material reconstruction. Because the Universal Render Pipeline handles shading differently from legacy pipelines, the Unity setup ensures shader parameters and surface responses are aligned with URP lighting standards straight away. Across both engines, the asset library totals 31 unique meshes, organizing standalone foliage models, modular table-dressing items, and wall fixtures into ready-to-place elements.

Potted House Plants and Cut Flower Arrangements

The botanical component of the pack divides into potted specimens and structured floral bouquets in glassware and vases. The potted plants represent common domestic foliage, offering distinct leaf shapes, stem habits, and growth profiles:

  • Monstera: Built with broad, fenestrated leaves that catch directional light, configured at 6,092 triangles.
  • Pilea: Features rounded, coin-shaped foliage branching from central stems at 7,099 triangles.
  • Violet: Highly dense foliage and flowering clusters reaching 23,362 triangles, making it the most complex single model in the collection.
  • Cactus Variations: Includes Cactus 01 across two distinct mesh representations at 1,908 and 4,620 triangles, alongside Cactus 02 modeled at 9,072 triangles.
  • Ivy: Provided as two independent meshes built at 4,849 and 6,316 triangles to handle trailing or climbing arrangements across vertical edges.
  • Small Plant: A compact potted filler asset clocking in at 5,352 triangles.

For arranged table dressings, the set introduces two primary floral types set into dedicated vases. Daffodils in vases are provided across five distinct mesh variations, scaling from a lightweight 1,180-triangle instance up to complex versions structured at 14,288, 14,416, 14,992, and 17,996 triangles. Cut lilies are provided through two vase mesh variations, set at 6,996 and 19,328 triangles respectively. These variations allow artists to mix stem counts, floral density, and arrangement silhouettes within interior spaces without visual cloning.

Staging Props, Shelves, and Surface Dressing

Grounding foliage inside an environment requires dedicated secondary props. House Plants supplies functional furniture and smaller dressing accessories to place foliage on window sills, kitchen tables, or study walls.

Two wooden wall or tabletop shelf meshes are provided at 740 and 912 triangles, giving immediate staging elevation for smaller succulent pots or trailing ivy. Surface protection and plant presentation are addressed through four individual plate meshes, balanced between 320, 336, 432, and 832 triangles. For softer, classic decor layers, five textile doily meshes provide flat underlying surface detail at very low budgets: 20, 84, 96, 108, and 192 triangles. A single utilitarian watering can mesh, detailed at 2,276 triangles, completes the set for living maintenance scenes.

Triangle Budgets Across 31 Unique Meshes

Polygon allocation across the 31 models ranges from ultra-light decorative items to dense hero centerpieces. Small planar doilies start as low as 20 triangles, while complex flowering specimens like the potted violet hit 23,362 triangles. Geometry density correlates directly to natural silhouette curving and the number of independent leaves, petals, and stems represented in a given plant form.

Because organic surfaces demand smooth curvature to avoid angular silhouettes under indoor lighting, the bouquets and thick flowering clusters carry the heaviest geometric weight. Conversely, supporting utility props like plates, shelves, and watering tools remain strictly optimized, preventing unnecessary rendering overhead when dressing background counters.

Texture Resolution and Lightmap UV Channel Configuration

Surfaces throughout the library are textured using uncompressed TGA file formats. Resolutions scale across three standard powers of two—4096x4096px, 2048x2048px, and 1024x1024px—providing high texel density for focal foliage while keeping subordinate props like plates and doilies proportional.

UV layout architecture is split intentionally across two distinct channels on every static mesh:

  • UV Channel 0 (Overlapping): Structured for primary material mapping, allowing symmetric leaves, repeated petal cards, and recurring container textures to maximize texture memory and texel density.
  • UV Channel 1 (Non-Overlapping): Strictly unwrapped without overlapping islands to facilitate static lightmap baking inside Unreal Engine and Unity lightmapping backends, eliminating light bleed and baking artifacts.

Collision handling across all 31 unique meshes is pre-configured with automatically generated hulls. This allows immediate prop interaction without manual physics blocking, ensuring items rest securely on shelves or collide properly with player characters and physics objects.

Scene Layout and Victorian Kitchen Props Compatibility

The aesthetic profile matches realistic and stylized indoor environments alike, fitting naturally into architectural visualization walks, domestic living rooms, and historical period settings. The assets specifically pair with the Victorian Kitchen Props Pack, sharing common scale, surface detailing, and complementary domestic themes.

Combining the varied vase densities with staggered shelving units allows level designers to construct detailed potting benches, sunroom displays, or parlor sideboards. With dual UV channels ready for baked global illumination and pre-built collision handling already in place, the pack drops directly into running pipelines without structural conversion steps.
