Frame-wide enhancement in real time
Beautify 3 – Advanced Post Processing applies as a full-screen image post processing effect, so it changes the look of the entire frame rather than a small isolated element. Its core enhancement algorithm is meant to improve image quality in real time, giving scenes a crisper and more vivid presentation while also restoring or augmenting image detail.
The effect does more than sharpen edges. It can improve pixel color without oversaturating the image, remove extra blur introduced by many antialias post effects, and reduce or remove banding artifacts in gradients. Skyboxes are specifically called out as a place where banding often appears because of color quantization, which makes the tool useful in scenes with large smooth gradients or wide areas of flat color.
Beautify 3 was nominated for the 15th Unity Awards in the Best Artistic Tool category.
Effects that stay in the same render pass
Beyond the main enhancement pass, Beautify 3 includes 20 advanced, high-quality effects with unique options. They are engineered for performance and integrated in the same render pass, keeping the extra visual work part of one unified workflow. The package also adds new antialiasing and cinematic effects, along with many new options and improvements to bloom, anamorphic flares, outline, chromatic aberration, and depth of field.
That combination gives artists and developers more than a single polish layer. It opens room for sharper frame treatment, stronger glow control, clearer edges, more precise color response, and depth-based image shaping without moving away from the same system.
- Bloom. A smooth glow effect with many customization options, including applying bloom to specific objects, attenuating it based on depth, and tuning each bloom step with custom colors, spread, and intensity.
- Advanced Outline. Adds a colored border to objects.
Pipeline and device coverage
Two packages are included: Beautify for Builtin Pipeline and Beautify for URP, the Universal Rendering Pipeline. The asset is compatible with Unity 2022.3+ and Unity 6, including Render Graph.
It works with forward and deferred rendering paths, as well as linear and gamma color spaces. Coverage also extends to WebGL, mobile, 2D, and 3D. For VR, the built-in pipeline supports Multi-Pass, Single Pass Stereo, and Single Pass Instanced, while URP supports Multi-Pass and Single Pass Stereo/MultiView.
Where it fits in a project
Beautify 3 focuses on the parts of a scene that players notice immediately: image clarity, color response, edge treatment, bloom behavior, and depth-based separation. Because it can restore or augment detail while also reducing blur and banding, it fits projects that need a cleaner image without pushing color too far.
The practical takeaway is straightforward. When a project needs sharper detail, smoother gradients, and cinematic post processing in real time across Builtin Pipeline or URP, Beautify 3 keeps those changes inside one scene-wide system.
