Character Variants and Mesh Optimization

The Riko character package is designed with mobile-friendly constraints, providing several mesh configurations to suit different performance requirements or scene contexts. The base Riko model consists of 7,708 polygons, while specific outfit variations offer different densities. The Tanktop version utilizes 6,966 polygons, and the Bikini variant is the lightest at 5,938 polygons. While earlier versions of the package included a specific optimized model at 6,012 polygons, the developer has refined the asset through version 3.1 and 3.2 to streamline the available options for modern projects.

To achieve its specific visual style, the character utilizes the Unity Toon Shader. Recent updates have moved the shader reference to version 0.13.0-Preview, ensuring compatibility with newer engine iterations. The asset count totals 76 individual files within the package, providing the necessary infrastructure for character deployment across different Unity environments.

Rigging and Animation Capabilities

Implementation is centered around the Humanoid rig standard, making the character compatible with standard Unity animation retargeting. The package includes 18 in-place animations, allowing for immediate movement testing without requiring external animation libraries. For character performance and interaction, the developer has included eight distinct emotion types, which facilitate facial expressions for dialogue or gameplay reactions.

Pipeline Compatibility and Rendering

Riko supports a wide range of Unity versions, starting from the original 2019.4.21 baseline up through Unity 6 (6000.0.61). The character is designed to function across multiple render pipelines, though the specific setup depends on the engine version used. In Unity 2020.3.47 and later, the asset supports the Universal Render Pipeline (URP), High Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP), and Built-in Render Pipeline, as well as Custom Scriptable Render Pipelines (SRP). This flexibility allows the character to be used in projects ranging from stylized mobile games to higher-fidelity desktop applications.

Modern Input Systems and Unity 6 Integration

Recent technical updates have focused on migrating the asset’s control logic to accommodate the New Input System. In version 3.2, the developer migrated the character workflow to support Unity 6 or higher specifically. This included updating the MouseOrbit script to function with the modern input framework, replacing older legacy input methods. Documentation within the package has been updated to cover these new input workflows, providing instructions for resolving potential errors when moving from legacy systems to the modern Unity 6 architecture.

The package remains focused on the anime aesthetic, categorized under fantasy humanoids with tags suggesting a variety of themes including school, fashion, and pajamas. With a file size of 45.5 MB, the resource is optimized for quick iteration and integration into mobile or low-poly production environments.
