Integration and Render Pipeline Compatibility

The Modular Elven Archer is built specifically for the Unity environment, with a native version requirement of 2019.4.28 or later. Implementation is strictly limited to the Built-in (Default) Render Pipeline. It is important to note that this asset is not compatible with HDRP. For developers working within the standard pipeline, the model provides a high-fidelity visual setup using PBR textures at 4K resolution. These texture sets include maps for albedo, normal, metallic, roughness, opacity, and MatID, covering six distinct areas: body, head, teeth, hair, eyes, shoes, and various clothing layers like the top and corset.

Modularity and Character Customization

The character is designed with a modular structure, allowing parts to be added or removed according to project needs. Unlike many character models that use mesh cutouts to prevent clipping, this asset includes a full body underneath the clothing. This design choice supports deeper customization for different outfits or states. The developer has included multiple body texture versions, including variations for socks and skin tones in both light and dark options.

A notable feature for character variation is the ear configuration. The elven ears are controlled via a blendshape rather than being baked into the geometry. This allows the user to switch between human and elven ear shapes, effectively expanding the utility of the model beyond a single fantasy race. The included bow and arrow assets complete the character’s thematic profile as an archer.

Rigging and Facial Motion Capture Workflow

The model is rigged to the Unity Humanoid standard, facilitating the retargeting of existing animations within the engine. Beyond the standard humanoid bones, the developer has added extra bones to handle secondary motion for the hair, eyes, breasts, and clothing. This provides a foundation for more dynamic movement in-game.

For developers focusing on cinematic sequences or social applications, the model supports advanced facial animation. It contains facial expressions driven by morph targets and blendshapes, specifically including Apple Blendshapes. This inclusion makes the character compatible with Live Link Face for real-time facial motion capture, allowing for live-streamed performances or detailed conversation animations. While the model is fully rigged and features a comprehensive set of blendshapes, it does not include pre-configured Blueprints, requiring manual setup for specific gameplay logic.

Technical Geometry Specifications

The geometry is optimized for modern hardware while maintaining a high level of detail for close-up interactions. The model consists of 48,977 faces, 81,750 triangles, and 53,147 vertices. This density supports the deformation required for both the humanoid movement and the specific facial blendshapes used in motion capture workflows. All components are delivered within a unitypackage format, totaling approximately 556.9 MB in size.
