Specialization – 5-Course Series: Gain the theoretical, technical, and practical knowledge needed to break into the video game industry through one of the world’s best courses.

In the comprehensively updated 2021 edition of the specialization, learners will acquire the skills needed to design and develop games. The specialization emphasizes both the theory and practice of game creation. From a technical perspective, learners will use the latest Unity 2020 game engine to create four game projects, including a 2D shooter, a 2D platformer, a first-person shooter, and a 3D platformer. In the “Capstone Project,” learners will create an original game of their own design, from initial concept to the first playable prototype. This specialization is offered by Michigan State University, whose game design program ranks among the top in North America.

Applied Learning Projects: Learners will build four complete Unity game projects while acquiring the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for success in the game industry. Learners will lay a solid foundation for roles such as game designer, level designer, technical designer, technical artist, programmer, and/or producer.
