Resource overview

In a Viewport, the Brushify - Grasslands Pack behaves like a finished environment rather than a collection of raw assets. The ready-made Level is playable out of the box, so the 1st session can be spent testing gameplay, setting up Cinematics, or studying the scene structure. Lumen is enabled by default, and Nanite is available for geometry that needs extra density, which means lighting and model complexity match a production-ready scene instead of a bare template.

Playable Level Built from the Pack's Own Assets

The Level itself was assembled from the included Meshes, Materials, and Textures, so it doubles as a reference for how the pieces are meant to be combined. Because it is fully playable, teams can drop in characters, vehicles, or camera rigs and start evaluating the environment immediately. The example setup is also a practical learning tool for anyone unfamiliar with how Brushify content is organized. Nanite can be enabled per Mesh when higher geometric detail is needed, while Lumen keeps Global Illumination and reflections running without additional setup.

Alpha Brushes and Distance Meshes Tied to Real-World Height Data

Landscape shaping in this pack starts with real-world Height Data, which is then texturized to create realistic high-resolution results. The 4 alpha sculpting brushes in the Grasslands Pack are stored in 1 single 8192x8192 Texture, giving artists real-time control when carving detail into the terrain. An erosion alpha brush Texture is also included, holding 4 separate brushes in its RGBA channels; these can be used to sculpt mountain shapes directly into the landscape.

For the background, the pack provides Distance Meshes: optimized geometry purpose-built to match the playable landscape. They extend the world far into the horizon without adding Draw Calls or performance cost. 4 Distance Meshes cover background mountains, and an additional bonus terrain Mesh adds a snowy background mountain; the technical breakdown lists 5 distance terrain Meshes in total. This setup is suited to scenes that need a convincing vista without loading the entire mountain range as playable geometry.

Landscape Auto Material Paints Biomes Across the Terrain

The Brushify Landscape Auto Material is the fastest route from an empty landscape to a detailed playable environment. It automatically textures the terrain as users sculpt, and each Biome functions as its own automatic paint layer. 11 landscape layers are available, covering Grass, GrassDry, Desert, Dunes, Beach, Forest, ForestDry, Snow, Mud, and Craters. Texture variants for Snow, Grassland, Desert, and Rocky Biomes are also included, so the same Material setup can be adapted to different regions within a Map.

The Material supports Runtime Virtual Texturing (RVT), Parallax Occlusion Mapping (POM), Tri-Planar Mapping, Tessellation or height blending, Roughness, a reduced distance tiling feature, and a 3-stage Level of Detail (LOD) System for Far, Medium, and Near viewing distances. Shader overdraw is optimized and Flow Mapping is included to keep surfaces looking consistent from varying angles. The Shader is modular by design; individual functions can be removed or customized to streamline the system for a specific project, so teams are not forced to carry features they don't need.

Procedural Spawners and Photogrammetry Rocks

Scattering rocks across slopes is handled by the pack's procedural spawners. The rocks are optimized and created using Photogrammetry techniques, which gives them a measured realism while staying efficient in the Viewport. The spawners automatically cover terrain slopes with rocks, cutting down 1 of the most repetitive tasks in Environment Art. Smaller cliff Meshes are also included for localized detail, while larger cliff walls are covered in a separate Brushify - Cliffs Pack.

Optimized grass is included alongside rock and plant Meshes, giving the grassland scene a populated feel. The asset list also includes a simple Water Shader, a Foliage Material, and a Cloud Shadows Material, which are common finishing touches for a large environment.

Combining Packs and the Final Asset Count

Brushify packs are designed to merge together. Because the Grasslands Pack shares generic objects, Textures, and Shaders with other Brushify releases, the intended workflow is to use the Epic Games Launcher's Add to project and then choose Overwrite files. This makes it easy to bring the Grasslands Pack into a project that already uses, for example, the Brushify - Forest Pack, extending a grassland scene into forested areas without Material or Mesh conflicts.

Looking at the contents, the Grasslands Pack includes 56 total Meshes, 120 Materials and Material Instances, and 129 Textures, all at 8192x8192 resolution. Vertex counts range from 1,000 to 62,000, and every Mesh is optimized with LODs. The full package also contains the Landscape Auto Material, a Near Mesh Shader with dynamic Material support for Snow and Desert, a simple Water Shader, Foliage Material, and Cloud Shadows Material. For teams building a grassland environment for games, films, Architectural Visualization (ArchViz), or automotive presentations, this pack provides an integrated set of terrain tools, background geometry, and Biome-painting Materials in 1 single install.
