High-Fidelity Industrial Infrastructure

The Switchboard pack provides a specialized set of industrial assets designed for high-end visual fidelity. Consisting of 54 unique meshes, the package is built around the architecture of modern control rooms, power stations, and factory floors. Unlike many industrial collections that lean into weathered or post-apocalyptic aesthetics, this pack emphasizes a factory-new appearance. The included textures are clean, devoid of the dirt, rust, or damage typically found in environmental sets, making it suitable for operational facility simulations or pristine laboratory settings.

Each model in the collection is built to AAA standards. The texture resolution is set at 4096x4096px, providing enough detail for close-up interactions. For projects where performance is a priority, these textures can be downscaled or converted to JPEG formats without losing the underlying structural detail of the materials.

Interactive Components and Rigging

Functionality is a core component of these assets. The developer has integrated a rigging system specifically for models featuring levers and buttons. This allows for direct animation or player interaction within a game engine, moving away from static background decoration toward interactive environment design. To support this interactivity, the package includes dedicated sounds that match the industrial theme, ensuring that tactile movements like flipping a switch or pulling a lever have the necessary auditory feedback.

The technical framework of the meshes is optimized for performance through manually authored Levels of Detail (LODs). This ensures that the polycount, which ranges from a low of 116 to a maximum of 2,620 per mesh, scales appropriately based on the camera’s distance. Colliders are also included for every object, facilitating immediate integration into physical scenes where player collision or raycasting is required.

Display Systems and Material Logic

One of the more specific features of the Switchboard pack is the inclusion of a separate material designed for monitor displays. This material is configured to handle animations, allowing developers to project moving images, data feeds, or UI elements onto the screens of the various control units. This setup simplifies the process of creating a living environment where screens appear active rather than static.

The package contains 189 total assets, including 8 textures and 2 primary materials that govern the visual output of the 54 meshes. This streamlined material count helps in managing draw calls while maintaining the high-resolution look across the entire set of panels, switches, and consoles.

Practical Application in Industrial Scenes

Because the assets are maintained in a clean state, they are particularly useful for projects depicting active, well-maintained facilities. Developers working on simulation-heavy projects, such as power plant management or high-tech manufacturing hubs, can utilize the rigged levers and animated monitor materials to create a functional dashboard for the user. The low-to-mid polycount makes these assets viable for both standard desktop applications and potentially more demanding VR environments where clean lines and interactive elements are essential for immersion.

The pack is designed for use within Unity 2019.3.11 and subsequent versions. Its reliance on a standard unitypackage format ensures that the LODs, rigs, and material assignments remain intact upon import, providing a turnkey solution for building out complex technical interiors.
